images happen

There were one or two new faces on the High street this year, they shall remain nameless. I shoot as much as I can within the limits of everything happening on the street.

I was introduced as “the photographer,” to one person who in his naivety possibly asked if I could shoot his show, being that he’d not met me before or seen my work proceeded to give me instructions as to how to shoot it, what to take photos of, the points in the short routine he wanted captured.

Everyone who knows me and how I work knows that I don’t shoot or conform to rules of how images should be captured. They happen. Not everything works, but they can still become interesting images, whether the person in them uses them on there web site or just as a personal moment caught within their show.

I have been given image requests and have where possible tried to achieve something along the line of the request. But I’ve always said if you want a job done to a professional level, employ a professional. Which I have had to pass on to one or two people and theatre companies over the years.

For me it’s about enjoying what I do and not my job. Even though in August it sometimes feels like it.
